Bulgaria has agreed to allocate more than 3 billion euros of aid to Ukraine from the EC

The aim of the aid is to strengthen support for Ukraine against the backdrop of current challenges that are causing debate in Bulgaria’s political arena.

The People’s Assembly of Bulgaria approved an agreement with the European Commission to provide microfinance assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 3.6 billion euros. Novinite reported it.

The agreement provides for Bulgaria’s provision of guarantees in the amount of 16,654,646 euros.

The aim of the aid is to strengthen support for Ukraine against the backdrop of current challenges that are causing debate in Bulgaria’s political arena.

It was noted that during the session, opposing opinions were heard, in particular, a statement by the head of the Vazrazhdane party, Kostadin Kostadinov, who criticized the allocation of funds to Ukraine, expressing concern about priorities domestically.

We remind you that the National Assembly of Bulgaria voted on December 8 to override President Rumen Radev’s veto on an agreement between the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on the supply of armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, which was adopted by the parliament last year. month.
