Some NASAMS complexes will be shipped from Norway’s own warehouses to ensure quick delivery to Ukraine.
Norway announced its decision to provide Ukraine with additional NASAMS air defense systems. This was stated on the Scandinavian country’s government website on Wednesday, December 13.
Norway will transfer an additional NASAMS air defense system to Ukraine at a cost of NOK 335 million (over $30 million, – ed.). depends largely on the military support of allies and partners to resist Russian aggression,” the message said.
According to the country’s Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram, air defense is an important part of defense, and the Ukrainian authorities are specifically asking for increased air defense support and giving it priority. He assured that this is a “huge contribution” to Ukraine’s ability to defend itself.
NASAMS complexes have been in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a year. During the Russian attack, these anti-aircraft systems sometimes showed 100% effectiveness.
