It is likely that Russian forces continue to face difficulties in fighting at night. Numerous reports from the invaders have highlighted this trend since the beginning of the war, especially in late November 2023. The UK Ministry of Defense announced this on Twitter on December 12.
One of the gripers in the social network is the lack of night vision equipment and low-light capable cameras for drones. The occupier claimed that he was in the occupied part of the Kherson region.
British intelligence claims that night vision devices are often mentioned in the lists of priority equipment for which Russian units make requests to their families and sympathizers.
At the same time, the UK Ministry of Defense notes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other Ukrainian units are often equipped with vision devices donated by the allies. One Russian soldier claimed that Ukrainian forces “move mainly at night.”
Let us recall that British intelligence reported that Russian aviation faced a serious problem near Zmeiny Island in the Black Sea, because it was vulnerable to Ukrainian air defense.
