The Swedish general visited the soldiers of the 45th separate artillery brigade carrying out missions in the eastern direction. Buden spoke with artillerymen and infantrymen who were trained in Sweden and highly appreciated their combat work. The Swedish Armed Forces and the 45th Separate Brigade reported this on Facebook.
Artillerymen of the 45th Brigade operate Swedish vehicles, namely the Archer self-propelled artillery mount and the Stridsfordon 90 infantry fighting vehicle.
I wanted to see and hear with my own eyes and ears how support is being provided on site, and received confirmation that this really makes a difference,” said Mikael Buden.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces emphasized that his country will help with the maintenance and repair of the transferred weapons, and will also provide ammunition. The gunners thanked Budin for his support.
During his visit to Ukraine, Buden also met with Defense Minister Rustam Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
Let us remind you that in the fall, the Ukrainian military received eight of the latest Archer self-propelled artillery systems from Sweden. The Swedish government decided to transfer these howitzers to Ukraine in January. And on November 4, the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers showed Archer for the first time, which had already been transferred to one of the brigades.
