Russia, Iran and China will be “happy” if the request for aid for Ukraine is not supported, the US Secretary of State believes.
Russia must stop Ukraine from attacking NATO countries and dragging the United States into a wider conflict. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this on CNN’s State of the Union program.
He also expressed the view that Russia, Iran and China “will be happy” if the request for aid for Ukraine and Israel is not supported by Congress.
“They (the Ukrainians – ed.) have made significant progress over the past year, rejecting Russia’s aggression, returning more than half of the territory that Russia gained since February 2022,” Blinken emphasized.
The Secretary of State said that the failure of Congress to approve a request for aid to Ukraine and Israel by the end of 2023 will only be accepted by Moscow, Tehran and Beijing.
“The only people who will be happy if the additional budget request is not voted on and passed by Congress are in Moscow, Tehran and Beijing,” he said.
Let’s recall that Blinken has previously said that military aid to Ukraine helps create more jobs and grow the American economy.
The White House intends to intensify its engagement with US lawmakers. In Washington, they are trying to finalize a bipartisan deal that would provide military aid to Ukraine and Israel while strengthening US border security.
