We are talking about the following stations: “Demeyevskaya”, “Goloseevskaya”, “Vasilkovskaya”, “Exhibition Center”, “Hippodrome”, “Teremki”.
This decision was made by the State Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations.
During the meeting, Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that back in November, significant leaks appeared along the first route between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations and cracks appeared in the track tray and the tubing of the tunnel frame.
Let us remind you that from December 8, today (suddenly) and for six months, train traffic between the Demeevskaya and Teremki metro stations in Kyiv will be closed. Traffic is being stopped due to urgent repairs on the running tunnel between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations.
From December 9, train traffic on the Obolonsko-Teremkovskaya metro line will take place between the “Geroev Dnepra” and “Lybidskaya” stations.
The sealing of the tunnel has been broken, now there is significant flooding on the sleeper grid – literally a stream of water with sand, which is an abrasive and during significant volumes of filtration it further damages the weak points of the tunnel treatment. The water level is now at the base of the rails and above. Therefore, a speed limit for carriages was introduced – 15 km/h.
The causes of the problem are still unknown.
The section between the Lybidskaya and Demeevskaya stations was problematic even during construction; during the first attempt at excavation in Soviet times, an accident occurred due to difficult water-logged soils, which froze construction for many years.
Due to the closure of the metro in Kyiv, traffic will change, namely:
- will increase the capacity of public transport;
- adjust the timing of switching traffic lights;
- public transport stops will be moved to more convenient locations;
- Some road signs will be replaced.
