The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, repelling Russian attacks along the entire line of contact.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult. During the day, 77 military clashes took place. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced this in a report on the evening of Friday, December 8.
In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed nine enemy attacks in the Sinkovka and Ivanovka areas of the Kharkov region. In the Liman direction, the Defense Forces repelled an attack by the Russians who were trying to dislodge our units from their occupied lines in the Spornoye area of the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Bogdanovka, Ivanovsky, Kleshchievka and Andreevka in the Donetsk region. In the direction of Avdiivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 enemy attacks in areas east of Novobakhmutovka, Stepnoy, Avdiivka, Tonenky, Pervomaisky, Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, had unsuccessfully tried to breach the defenses.
In the Maryinsky direction, the Defense Forces continued to contain the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobeda and Novomikhailovka of the Donetsk region, where the enemy made 20 unsuccessful attacks on the defenders’ positions of Ukrainian.
The Russians did not take offensive actions in the direction of Shakhtarsky. In the direction of Zaporozhye, the defense forces repelled the attack of the invaders in the area west of Verbovoye, Zaporozhye region.
Defense forces have positions on the left bank of the Dnieper region, Kherson. They continue to attack the enemy.
During the day, missile forces units launched attacks on three areas where Russian personnel, weapons, military equipment and electronic warfare stations were concentrated.
The Russian Army carried out 27 missile and 27 air strikes, and carried out 49 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Let’s recall that on the morning of December 8, the Russian military launched 19 Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles into Ukraine. The air defense managed to destroy 14 missiles.
Explosions were heard in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Russian troops attacked Kyiv from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. Air defense forces destroyed all missiles flying in the direction of the capital while still approaching the city.
