The Verkhovna Rada adopted a new law on the creation of the National Military Memorial Military Cemetery and approved its location in the village of Gatnoye, Fastovsky district, Kyiv region. People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced this on Telegram on Friday, December 8.
According to him, the corresponding bill No. 10289 is generally supported by 303 representative people.
“This (the bill – ed.) makes it possible to actually change the location of the cemetery: “the location of the National War Memorial Cemetery is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at the proposal of the central executive body, which ensures the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of social protection of war veterans.” Which in fact, according to information from officials, it will be Gatnoye,” said Zheleznyak.
In this regard, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said on Telegram that the adopted bill will allow the necessary work to be completed quickly.
“Issues regarding the land plot, urban planning conditions and environmental impact assessment will be resolved… Now the responsible departments face the task of opening the first phase of the National War Memorial Cemetery in the first half of 2024 ,” he wrote. .
We remind you that on May 2, the Rada already made a decision on the creation of the National War Memorial Cemetery. It is planned to be located in the Dnieper district of Kyiv, in Bykovna. But President Vladimir Zelensky never signed the corresponding law.
