Hunter Biden failed to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019.
US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has been indicted on nine counts of tax evasion. CNN reported it.
It was noted that Hunter Biden failed to pay taxes on at least $1.4 million between 2016 and 2019.
The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The new charges include three felonies and six misdemeanors. Instead of paying taxes, Biden allegedly spent millions on an “extravagant lifestyle.”
According to the prosecution, Hunter Biden “continued to make good money and spend money uncontrollably in 2018,” and his expenses “increased in proportion to income growth.”
Hunter Biden last paid taxes in 2018, but prosecutors say he took “false business deductions to avoid taxes to reduce his significant tax liability.”
The indictment alleges that in 2018, the defendant spent more than $1.8 million, including $722,000 in cash, approximately $151,000 on clothing and accessories, and more. The defendant did not use these funds to pay taxes.
According to Biden’s lawyer, Abby Lowell, based on the factual basis and the law, if Hunter’s last name had been different, the charges against him would not have been brought to Delaware or, as it is now, to California.
It was previously reported that Biden’s son was charged with three counts of illegal possession of a weapon. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
We remind you that the son of US President Joe Biden was involved in a scandal because of an explicit video, which, according to media reports, was filmed in 2019.
