From the first days of a full-scale war, Great Britain has been helping Ukraine with weapons, humanitarian aid, and training of the Ukrainian military.
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, during his visit to Washington, said that Britain will continue to help Ukraine and called on the world to remain an ally of Kyiv in a brutal confrontation with the aggressor. He announced this on Thursday, December 7, in his speech in the United States.
He mentioned that he went to the United States to talk about aid for Ukraine.
“I went to Washington this week to reiterate that we must continue to provide financial and military assistance to Ukraine so that it can resist Russia’s illegal aggression,” Cameron said.
He also compared Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Hitler’s invasion.
“My generation, like my grandfather’s generation, is resisting the invasion of Europe. In the past it was Nazi Germany, now it is Russia,” the minister said.
The Foreign Minister said that in meetings with members of the US Congress, he emphasized that the war in Ukraine poses a threat not only to the security of Europe, but also to the security of the United States.
“If we do not stop Putin in Ukraine, he will continue his aggressive actions. Next time his target may be a member of NATO, and then we will be forced to fight Russia directly. In this case, we will lose not only money and weapons, but also the lives of our citizens,” Cameron said.
Let’s recall that the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, signed the law on the federal budget of the Russian Federation for 2024, which was previously approved by the Russian State Duma. The Russian Federation will spend 10.775 trillion rubles next year on “national defense.” A terrorist country returns to the reality of the Soviet era. In recent years, the USSR spent a third of its budget on defense.
As reported, the ruling regime of the Russian Federation plans to form another army army, seven divisions, 19 brigades, 49 regiments and a flotilla in the Russian Armed Forces next year.
