As a result of artillery shelling, equipment was seriously damaged, which led to the suspension of the operation of two power units. Therefore, and also due to a decrease in ambient temperature, a temporary shortage of electricity is recorded in the power system. The Ministry of Energy reported this.
The department urged consumers to consume electricity wisely and economically, especially during peak hours of network load.
And Ukrenergo reported that due to the cold snap, consumption has increased significantly, and the ability of power plants to increase electricity production is limited. Cloudy weather also interferes with the operation of solar power plants.
Let us remind you that on December 7, a shortage of electricity arose in the Ukrainian energy system due to cold weather, as a result of which Ukrenergo used emergency assistance from Romania, Poland, and Slovakia from 11.00 to 19.00. Energy workers stressed that emergency assistance is an emergency measure to overcome the shortage.
