In the structure of Russian economic growth, an increasingly large share is occupied by the so-called primary non-resource industries, Vladimir Putin said.
Russia can no longer be called a “gas station”, because now most of its economic growth seems to consist of non-resource sectors. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Russia Calling forum! on Thursday, December 7th.
“In the structure of the growth of the Russian economy, an increasingly large part is occupied by the so-called primary non-resource sectors. These are manufacturing, transport, logistics, construction, information, communications, housing and communal services,” said Putin .
According to him, in the second quarter of 2023 they will reach 54% of economic growth. Another 44% came from trade, catering and other professional services, and only 2% of the Russian Federation’s economic growth allegedly came from mining.
“And now let someone say that Russia is a gas station, as they recently tried to talk about it,” said the Russian president.
Vladimir Putin believes that by the end of 2023, Russia’s GDP growth could reach 3.5%.
Let’s remember that the late US Senator John McCain repeatedly called Russia “a gas station that thinks of itself as a country.”
And in August of this year, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said the same when he compared Russia and China.
