These spare parts are used to repair GNSU vehicles damaged during hostilities, the DBR press service reports.
It is noted that law enforcement officers exposed the deal with auto parts when they tried to register the goods at Kyiv customs in August 2023.
To circumvent sanctions, representatives of the aggressor country planned to supply smuggled products to our state through third countries,” the report says. “According to the scheme developed by the organizers, the goods were first registered with Belarusian gasket companies and then sent to European companies, which seemed to officially export the products to Ukraine.
During the inspection of the accompanying documents, it was established that spare parts were supplied under a contract with payments in Russian rubles. The final recipient of the funds is a commercial structure whose bank account is opened in the aggressor country.
Russian-made goods were seized as part of criminal proceedings for aiding an aggressor country (Part 2 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code), the investigation is ongoing. For this offense, the law provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to seven years.
The DBR notes that in July 2023, the import into Ukraine of a batch of Russian auto parts worth more than UAH 3 million was already blocked under the same scheme. These auto parts are also donated to the needs of the military.
