In the second year of a full-scale war, the supply of the army continues to be partially covered by non-governmental initiatives at the expense of Ukrainian citizens and businesses.
From the beginning of the mass invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the citizens of our state have actively supported the army, including financially. So, since February 24, 2022, Ukrainians have donated more than 100 billion hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Department of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Tuesday, December 5.
It was noted that in the first year of the war alone, the Ukrainians transferred several tens of billions of hryvnias.
“From February 2022 to May 2023, citizens, private companies and banks transferred 98.9 billion hryvnias to humanitarian aid and defense in Ukraine,” the statement said.
At the same time, in the first three quarters of 2023, the largest Ukrainian charitable foundation collected UAH 12.5 billion.
Earlier it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers will open a special account for donations for demining territories.
