The Foreign Minister believes that the European integration of Ukraine is a story that cannot be stopped, but time is of the essence.
Negotiations for Ukraine to join the EU will start in any case, but the task is to ensure that it happens as soon as possible. This was said on Monday, December 4, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba in a telethon.
He stressed that he does not like forecasts and is actively working as part of the entire diplomatic team of President Vladimir Zelensky on the issue of starting negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
“We are talking about a decision of historical proportions, and therefore the president is personally involved in these processes. We are working to ensure that the decisions are positive. History cannot be stopped, it will take place in any chance. Our job is to make sure it happens as soon as possible.” .And this is exactly what we are doing,” the Foreign Minister added.
At the same time, Kuleba clarified that this week and next there will be a lot of diplomacy, and not only in Kyiv and Brussels, but also in other capitals.
“Pay attention to the president’s phone conversations, which will be held at the end of last week, and where they will be held. Pay attention to the visits of individual European leaders to individual European capitals,” he says.
The minister recalled that last week in Brussels he spoke with a large number of foreign ministers of the European Union, and everywhere the main issue was the summit on December 14-15, as well as the decisions that meet those interests of Ukraine and the whole of Europe. .
Let’s recall that the head of the Hungarian government, Viktor Orban, said that the European Commission’s proposal for Ukraine’s accession to the EU was allegedly “unfounded and poorly prepared.” He wrote a letter to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, in which he put an ultimatum on voting in support of Ukraine. The European Commission responded to Orban’s attacks.
