During the full-scale Russian invasion, more than 260 offenses related to human trafficking were identified in Ukraine.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced this today, December 2, on the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery.
From February 24, 2022 to October 2023, 264 criminal offenses were identified under the article on human trafficking. As part of these investigations, 169 traffickers were given suspect status, the report said.
Also, during 2022-2023, 215 people were recognized as victims in criminal proceedings for human trafficking, of which 23 were children.
It is noted that in the last two years alone in Ukraine, the police have stopped the activities of six organized groups of human traffickers facing trial.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that the purpose of the International Day is to eradicate such modern forms of slavery as:
- human trafficking;
- sexual exploitation;
- the worst forms of child labor;
- forced marriages;
- sale of brides;
- inheritance of widows;
- forced recruitment of children for further use in armed conflicts.
