Rescuers are pumping water from residential buildings and households in Uzhgorod and Svalyava.
In the Transcarpathian region, heavy rains caused local rivers to rise. Roads, homes and agricultural land were flooded in all areas of the region, the State Emergency Service reported on Saturday, December 2.
It is indicated that 440 hectares of agricultural land were flooded in Beregovo and Khust districts.
Rescuers pumped water from buildings and homes in the cities of Uzhgorod and Svalyava, as well as in the villages of Krichevo and Lazy in the Tyachevsky district and in the village of Bogdan in the Rakhivsky district.
“Two local roads between the settlements of the village of Chernotysovo and the village of Kholmovets, and between the village of V. Komyati and the village of Shalanki, Beregovsky district, are flooded. Travel is possible. The H-09 highway Mukachevo-Rogatyn -Lvov between the settlements of the city is also flooded. Tyachev and the village of Bedevlya, travel is possible, “said the message.
It was also found that the supporting wall of a private household in the village of Roztoki was displaced as a result of waterlogging.
It was previously known that a storm warning was announced in western Ukraine. Almost 500 settlements were cut off due to bad weather.
