The Russian invaders have reduced the scale of their air attacks, and their current strategy is similar to “the tactics of a thousand cuts,” according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Russians are not launching massive missile strikes on Ukrainian territory because they are stockpiling missiles “for other purposes.” This was said on Friday, December 1, by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, in an interview with Dmitry Gorodon.
Ignat suggested that Russian troop missile reserves were insufficient for large-scale attacks. Citing intelligence information, he suggested that the aggressor country could amass up to 900 precision-guided missiles.
“If you believe the data we have, then they approached the winter with half the number of missiles than last year. So they are holding them back. They are keeping them for some other tasks. .. Believe me, if only they had enough missiles – they would hit every day until we were brought to blackout,” he emphasized.
The Ukrainian military successfully used the American Patriot air defense system to destroy Russian aircraft in the skies over the Bryansk region on May 13 of this year.
As of October 2023, Russia has produced 115 precision-guided missiles, with a total of approximately 870 missiles in its stockpile.
According to Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat, the Russians cover the missiles with carbon fiber or paint them black to make it harder for Ukrainian air defenses to shoot them down.
