The SBU press center reported this today, November 29.
The defendant filmed the work of the Ukrainian air defense on a mobile phone camera and posted the corresponding media files on his own Tik Tok page, the SBU notes. – In the description under this video, he indicated the exact time and location of the shooting. Within a matter of minutes, the media received recommendations from many social network users, among whom were representatives of the Russian intelligence services.
The SBU notes that the Russian invaders could use the information obtained in this way to adjust repeated attacks on the city using missile weapons and Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
It is noted that SBU officers established the identity and location of the person involved and detained him. The attacker turned out to be a 35-year-old Odessa resident who had previously served a sentence for theft and robbery.
During searches, a mobile phone was found in his premises, which he used to illegally film and distribute videos about the combat work of the Defense Forces, the SBU notes.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code (dissemination of information about the movement, movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations). He faces up to eight years in prison.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure—detention—is currently being decided. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
The press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office notes that the video published by TikToker was viewed by more than 40 thousand users, with its subsequent distribution.
The blogger explained his criminal actions with a desire to “increase” his audience, the prosecutor’s office noted.
