As of November 10, there were 33,060 Ukrainian refugees in Hungary. Peter Szijjártó “increased” their number 30 times.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó blatantly lied about the number of Ukrainian refugees currently in his country. This was confirmed by an interview with the American television channel CNBC, published on Wednesday, November 29.
According to Szijjártó, Hungary is supporting Ukraine and is said to be conducting “the largest humanitarian operation in history.”
“We have accepted more than 1 million refugees from Ukraine. We take good care of them. They have equal access to education and healthcare facilities as Hungarians. We encourage employers to hire them,” said Szijjártó.
Let’s remember that according to Eurostat, as of November 10, there were 33,060 Ukrainian refugees in Hungary. That is, Peter Szijjártó “increased” their number 30 times.
Also, the Hungarian minister re-assured that his country would never supply weapons to Ukraine.
“We believe that instead of arms, peace should be brought to this region. And the more arms are delivered, the longer the war will last. Now, the longer the war lasts, the more people will die,” he said.
As you know, Hungary has taken an openly pro-Russian position and has repeatedly hurt Ukraine with its actions. Prime Minister Viktor Orban has threatened to block all EU aid to Ukraine, as well as our country’s further movement in the bloc, unless EU leaders agree to reconsider their entire strategy to support Kyiv .
