The draft program contains five main sections: political and economic issues, defense and military issues, resource issues, security issues and legal issues.
The Commission on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration approved the draft adapted Annual National Program (ANP) for 2024, a document defining the criteria for Ukraine’s compliance with NATO membership. The government press service reported this on November 28.
It was noted that the purpose of the adapted Annual National Program was to prepare Ukraine for NATO membership, and the changes in the GNP were made taking into account a full-scale invasion of Russia.
The draft program contains five main sections: political and economic issues, defense and military issues, resource issues, security issues and legal issues. The political part is in line with Kyiv’s obligations to join the European Union.
The government added that the draft adapted GNP will be presented on Wednesday, November 29, at a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the level of foreign ministers.
We remind you that in October-November 2023, four more NATO standards were introduced to the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported, the former Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, made a proposal that Ukraine could be accepted into NATO, but “will not extend the guarantees of collective self-defense” to the territory under Russian occupation.
