The United States is negotiating the purchase of 75,000 artillery shells from the Greek Armed Forces stockpile as part of an effort to replace Ukraine’s munitions to counter the Russian Federation. This was reported by Ekathimerini.
As mentioned, negotiations on the purchase of shells are in the final stage. The United States will buy 50,000 105mm rounds, 20,000 155mm rounds, and 5,000 larger 203mm rounds.
The total price of the shells, agreed upon by the Greek side, is $47 million.
It was previously reported that US supplies of NATO-standard artillery shells to Ukraine have dropped by more than 30% since the start of Israel’s war against the Palestinian radical group Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
We remind you that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on the United States to start joint production of weapons.
