The attackers used Zelensky’s video message dated November 23, in which he talks about the new punishment decisions.
A video of President Vladimir Zelensky’s statement about the alleged “removal of martial law in part of Ukraine” is circulating on social networks. However, this post is fake. The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security reported this on Monday, November 27.
The video, allegedly a plot fragment of the ICTV channel, is distributed on TikTok. It says the head of state has “cancelled” martial law and mobilization in 10 regions to “boost the economy.”
The video was published by an account with the ICTV channel logo on its avatar to appear more credible.
Scammers used Zelensky’s video message from November 23, where he talks about new sanctions decisions, and the attackers placed a fake “statement” on top of the original video.
“Also at the end of the video, an ICTV presenter is shown urging you to follow the link to find out which areas martial law is being lifted. This text is also spoken in the video, and the link is an ad for a suspicious Telegram channel,” the Center summarized.
As we wrote earlier, Vladimir Zelensky ordered the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Prime Minister Denis Shmygal to prepare a comprehensive mobilization plan.
Let us remind you that recently it became known that the Verkhovna Rada is preparing for the registration of a large bill with changes to mobilization, military registration and military service.
