Silvio Berlusconi and Vladimir Putin had a long intimate relationship – after 2011, when the Italian left office, he continued talking to the President of Russia.
Former Italian prime minister, leader of the right-wing party Forward, Italy! Silvio Berlusconi said that at the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he had not successfully tried twice to infiltrate Vladimir Putin, Il Messaggero reports.
“I haven’t talked to Putin lately. We are very good friends. I have called him twice by phone since the beginning of this ‘operation’ (war) and have received no response,” Berlusconi said.
He added that he considers the war between Russia and Ukraine dangerous, as he does not see the possibility of its immediate end. But he claims that if he is now the leader of Italy, he will do everything to end the rivalry.
Remember that Silvio Berlusconi and Vladimir Putin had a long intimate relationship – after 2011, when the Italian left office, he continued to talk to the head of state.
In April, Berlusconi said he was “disappointed with Putin’s behavior” because of the war he had unleashed in Ukraine.
“He always seemed like a man of common sense, democracy, peace,” the former Italian chief said at the time.
It will be recalled that the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, has expressed full support for Russia in carrying out the so-called “just cause of protecting dignity and security.”
