Military departments will appear in all higher educational institutions – MES

Pilot projects for the introduction of military departments in Ukrainian universities will start working from the new academic year.

From September 2024, military departments will appear in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Vinnitsky spoke about this on Friday, November 24, Kultura ng Radyo reports.

Basic military training is compulsory for all boys, girls will undergo military training at will.

“It is planned that students of military departments will have three credits in the classroom and will receive the military specialty “Shooter”, Vinnitsky said.

He clarified that the specialty can be obtained by completing a course in tactical medicine or basic shooting.

The Deputy Minister noted that military departments are an important necessity in modern Ukraine.

“We understand that even with Victory tomorrow, we remain in a situation where we need reserve officers. And we need them in large numbers,” the official said.

First, the Ministry of Education and Science announced the closure of several universities in the country.

Military education is a priority for Ukraine in the coming years.
