The Estonian side plans to strengthen the fences at the now closed Narva-2 pedestrian border checkpoint.
Estonia at its border checkpoint in Narva on Friday, November 24, continues to prepare for the possible closure of the border with the Russian Federation – additional barriers have been installed on the bridge. This was reported by the Estonian media ERR.
The first concrete pyramids on the bridge in Narva appeared on November 16 after 19 citizens of Somalia and Syria arrived at the eastern border of Estonia, trying to enter the country by crossing the Narva border.
Due to the worsening migration situation, the border checkpoint in Narva is being prepared to close, so Estonians are not advised to travel to the Russian Federation due to return problems.
“We are preparing to close the border crossing. Last week we placed barriers there, and in the coming days we will further strengthen the protection of the Narva border crossings. We will close two lanes to traffic, no it will hinder the movement of vehicles. for now. And with the currently closed pedestrian border crossing Narva-2, we will strengthen the fences on the bridge so that it cannot be used for illegal border crossings,” the message said.
We remind you that Estonia, Iceland and Germany transferred an additional batch of military aid to Ukraine.
