This was announced today, November 24, on the Facebook page of the Anti-Corruption Center.
In all three cases, bail was provided as determined by the court. We do not know whether they paid the bail themselves or whether third parties did it, but the speed of posting multi-million dollar deposits is cosmic,” the Civil Procedure Code notes.
Previously, the court assigned them the following bail amounts:
- Lye – 25 million UAH;
- Odarchenko – 15 million UAH;
- Kopistyr, suspected by NABU and SAPO of attempting to bribe Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Kubrakov and only this morning was sent to a pre-trial detention center, – 100 million UAH.
Let us add that SAPO prosecutors asked for significantly larger sums for Shchigol (UAH 50 million) and Kopistira (UAH 199.9 million), the Civil Procedure Code noted. — It’s interesting that at the trial, Kopistira’s lawyer said that the amount of bail that the prosecutor asked for was prohibitive for his client. And he asked to assign only 214 thousand UAH.
After leaving the pre-trial detention center, all suspects must adhere to a number of obligations, in particular:
- refrain from communicating with witnesses or other suspects;
- hand over passports for traveling abroad;
- wear an electronic bracelet.
If they violate their obligations, the deposit may be collected from the budget, the Code of Civil Procedure adds.
Let us remind you that Odarchenko was recently expelled from the Servant of the People party.
