The Minister for Strategic Industries emphasized that the Ukrainian military-industrial complex in 2023 will increase three times compared to last year.
The production volume of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (MIC) in 2023 will triple compared to 2022. In addition, a further six-fold increase is expected in 2024. This was announced on Friday, November 24, by the Minister for Strategic Industries that Alexander Kamyshin following a meeting with Ukrainian defense industry manufacturers in a message published on his Telegram channel.
According to him, Ukraine has not been able to independently meet all the needs of the Defense Forces, so everything depends on external supplies from partners.
The minister commented on the contracting procedure of the Ministry of Defense for 2024.
“The position of the Ministry of Defense is constructive and understandable – the funds available in the budget so far are enough to contract almost half of the capabilities of the domestic market next year. There are also transitional contracts and the need to bought some items abroad. However, we understand that the necessary funds will be found, “- Kamyshin summarized.
As we wrote earlier, a joint conference between Ukraine and the United States on defense will be held in Washington this December, where industry and government representatives will be involved.
