Now Ukraine needs three victories – Zelensky

Now, Ukraine needs three major victories that will energize it to fight the Russian Federation. This is what the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said at a joint press conference with the President of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics.

According to him, the first success was the decision of the US Congress to provide aid to Ukraine.

“The first is in Congress, it’s a challenge, it’s not easy, not everything depends on us. But Ukraine must do everything in its power to ensure that there is help,” the Ukrainian leader emphasized.

The second success is the support of the European Union – Ukraine receiving an aid package of 50 billion euros.

“Not everyone in the EU is ready to support this package now. It is our duty to do everything so that they support (it),” the head of state said.

The third achievement was the opening of dialogue about Ukraine’s future membership in the EU.

“This is a motivational step for us, for those who work, study, and for those who need to be motivated every day through different measures, who gave their lives on the battlefield . I believe that now these three things are important, and in the near future we need to achieve results,” concluded Zelensky.

As we already wrote, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics arrived in Kyiv on an unexpected visit. Zelensky thanked the Latvian president for his willingness to “maintain the existing energetic approach” to cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky warned that the EU’s refusal to start accession negotiations with Ukraine would have consequences and would be a victory for Russia.
