Ostap Stupka believes that the court made a “rather unfair decision” because there were “many mitigating circumstances.”
Kyiv’s Goloseevsky District Court found actor Ostap Stupka guilty in a drunken accident case. Suspilne reported this on Friday, November 24.
“The court sentenced the People’s Artist to the restriction of freedom for 3 years and deprived him of the right to drive for 8 years. He should also be charged with approximately 10 thousand hryvnias, which went to reviews,” the report said .
The restriction of freedom obliges the actor to appear in special institutions to perform socially useful work.
Ostap Stupka said “it was a rather unfair decision” because there were “many mitigating circumstances.”
“We can impose a fine, which will be more appropriate and fair for the state, because the amount is not small. The minimum is 170 thousand hryvnias. Also, the fate of the seized property has not been decided yet,” the actor said .
The defense plans to appeal. For one month, until the sentence takes effect, Stupka will be subject to a preventive measure – night house arrest from 00:00 to 05:00 in the morning.
We remind you that on April 4, the actor Ostap Stupka had an accident in the Goloseevsky district of Kyiv. While drunk, he drove his Range Rover SUV into a Mitsubishi car parked at the bus stop.
The Mitsubishi had a 38-year-old driver taken to hospital with multiple injuries. The culprit of the accident was drunk. Drager’s test showed 1.62 ppm.
