In the last 24 hours, four power units of thermal power plants (TPPs) have been connected to the energy system in Ukraine. The Ministry of Energy announced this on Thursday, November 23.
It is indicated that electricity consumption in the country is increasing against the backdrop of a significant cold snap. The highest load on the energy system was recorded yesterday at 17:30. At the same time, all kinds of generations are making every effort to meet the needs of consumers and industry.
“Nine nuclear units are in operation. Also yesterday, within 24 hours, four units of thermal power plants in different regions came out of short-term maintenance. Three units of thermal generation equipment are in reserve. The total increase in thermal generation per day is more than 700 MW,” the message said.
The department assured that as of this morning the energy system is balanced and the situation is under control. And during the peak of consumption at night, it is possible to attract imported electricity to fill possible shortages.
It was also reported that in the past 24 hours, electricity imports reached 2,707 MWh, exports – 720 MWh.
We remind you that on November 22, a deficit appeared in the Ukrainian energy system for the first time in the current autumn-winter season. Ukrainians were urged to consume electricity sparingly throughout the day.
