The signal to the president of the aggressor country was sent by the participants of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format, the meeting of which began today, November 22. It was voiced by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin during his opening remarks before the Ramstein meeting.
Our unity sends a clear message to the path that it cannot outlive us or win the competition for freedom,” he said.
The American minister added that for more than 20 months the people of Ukraine have demonstrated to the world the strength of a free people to resist Putin’s aggression. He emphasized that Ukraine’s struggle for freedom matters to all of their allies.
Austin added that Ramstein members refuse to have “the shape of global security dictated by autocrats who rely on repression through force and coercion.”
At the meeting, the head of the Pentagon called on the allies to strengthen Ukrainian air defense due to the risks of massive winter attacks.
Let us recall that two days before the new Ramstein meeting, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin visited Ukraine on a working visit and met with the state leadership. The head of the Pentagon stressed that the United States will continue to support the Ukrainian people in the fight against Russian invaders.
