On November 22, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine is considering a petition to apply a preventive measure to People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People Andrey Odarchenko.

NABU and SAPO exposed him for attempting to bribe Mustafa Nayem with bitcoins in exchange for allocating money for the renovation of the university, which was carried out by the people’s deputy.
About 20 people came to the courtroom, ready to bail the MP. These are mainly Odarchenko’s colleagues at the State Biotechnological University, for the restoration of which the people’s deputy allegedly gave a bribe.
According to the lawyer, more than 200 people signed a positive description of the people’s deputy – mostly employees of the same university.
The Anti-Corruption Center reported statements from the courtroom by the prosecution, defense and Odarchenko himself.
At the meeting it was reported that the suspect provided part of the bribe in the amount of 0.39 bitcoins, which at the time of the transfer was equivalent to 10 thousand dollars.
The investigation was facilitated by Mustafa Nayem himself, who is a witness and whistleblower in this case. Here is one of the deputy’s quotes from NABU records:
I love crypto. Have you never used crypto? This is wow. nary topic. I have my own exchangers. Everywhere, in Lvov, Kharkov, Kyiv. Yes, even in Spain.
During the court hearing, Odarchenko confirmed his communication with the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction, Mustafa Nayem.
According to investigators, he tried to bribe him.
I communicated with Mustafa Nayyem many times, we talked on different topics, but I never voiced any proposals for obtaining undue benefits. We communicated exclusively on the topic of allocating money in the form of assistance to the university for its restoration,” Odarchenko said.
He also added that Nayem himself asked him to teach him how to use a cryptocurrency wallet.
To be honest, I don’t know how to use it myself. We met with Nayem at the Gilton Hotel, where we talked about this topic, showed how to use it, set it up and that’s it. But I myself recently discovered cryptogamanism, for which I don’t even have money. “I provided this information to the investigators, gave them the keys to my cryptogamer, they can confirm this,” he said.
Odarchenko, in conversations with Nayem, said that he himself was afraid of these topics and was very careful:
I myself am in the anti-corruption committee, if they catch me, then there will be no mood, no happiness, nothing.
According to SAPS, messages were exchanged in one of the instant messengers. After transferring 10 thousand in the crypt, Odarchenko wrote to Mustafi – “Hello.” This meant that the money was gone.
Odarchenko himself says that he did not retell any bitcoins:
Mustafa asked me to teach him how to use crypto. I didn’t translate anything for him.
Another interesting point. When speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, after the introduction of martial law, said that whoever leaves Kyiv is a traitor, Odarchenko said:
As soon as I got out, I left for Transcarpathia. I think you should go…
Even judging by the records dated already in August 2023, Odarchenko said that he did not believe that Kharkov would survive and spoke about Russia like this:
This is power, I read a lot, they will sweep us away, Iran and China are giving them weapons. Why do we need these Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea? We need to come to an agreement.
Odarchenko retorted that immediately after the start of full-scale aggression he arrived in Kharkov. Helped tens of thousands of Kharkov residents and military personnel:
“I personally helped people heat their homes in difficult times,” the lawyer said.
But the Odarchenko family was in Thailand at that time, because “it’s cheaper there than in Ukraine, Poland or Spain.”
A support group from Kharkov came to support the deputy. The defense listed Odarchenko’s merits and talked about “artificially created evidence.”
If every day a deputy, or even two, is detained, then who will vote? – asked the lawyer.
SAPO asked to take the deputy into custody with an alternative bail of 15 million UAH. The meeting will continue at 16:00, where recordings of conversations will be heard.
The expulsion of People’s Deputy Odarchenko from the Servant of the People party will be considered by a disciplinary commission, the head of the party Shulyak told Radio Liberty.
