“My administration will continue to do everything we can to lower prices for American citizens. Congress must act now as well,” Biden said.
The White House leader stressed that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was to blame for the price increase.
“The price increase through Putin’s actions was a powerful blow in May to our country and around the world: high prices for fuel, energy and food products cost almost half of the monthly price increase “As we continue our efforts to protect freedom in Ukraine, we need to do more – and fast – to lower prices here in the United States,” the politician said.
At the same time, Biden called the fight against inflation a “top priority in the economy.”
“We all need to work to lower inflation,” Biden added.
