The new drone is presented in three versions – with different guidance systems:
- with inertial system and GPS (like Shahed-136),
- drone with infrared/optical guidance system,
- with a radar homing head, which makes this model an analogue of anti-radar missiles capable of breaking through air defenses.
The technical characteristics of the Shahed-238 are unknown, but it has a jet engine that provides high speed. However, most likely, the flight range of the new suicide bombers will be shorter.
The version with an infrared/optical system can be used to destroy heat-contrasting targets, in particular, important military equipment behind enemy lines.
The fuselages of all three new products have an uncharacteristic black color for Iranian drones, which may be due to the use of radio-absorbing materials.
