A special structure has been created in Ukraine to integrate F-16 fighters into the Defense Forces system.

The program will have two stages of deployment:
- “Fast Track”, calculated until the end of 2024;
- “Scaling”.
The main areas of work will be:
- support and development of infrastructure of airfields (air bases);
- comprehensive protection of the airfield infrastructure, including the air defense system;
- selection and training of flight crews and other aviation personnel;
- aircraft life cycle support and logistics support;

international communications and other legal, financial, security and administrative functions.
The development of tactical aviation capabilities of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and at the same time the re-equipment of aviation brigades, is one of our key priorities, said First Deputy Minister of Defense Alexander Pavlyuk.
F-16 aircraft will very seriously change the course of the war in Ukraine, press secretary of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat said earlier.
I would like to argue with all the critics on this issue regarding airplanes. Airplanes will change the course of the war and change it very seriously. The question is that these aircraft do not have tactical and technical characteristics significantly weaker than Russian ones. We need modern aircraft that can gain an advantage in the air,” Ignat said.
According to the PS speaker, the F-16 will be able to win back Russian aviation and provide air cover for ground troops.
