Also during their visit, Pentagon officials hope to learn more from Ukrainian leaders about how their strategy against Russia will evolve now that winter is setting in. They expect Russia to use this time of year to regroup its forces and target civilian infrastructure, as it did last winter.
Austin’s trip is also intended to show that American support will not be “blown away” by Israel’s war with Hamas, The Washington Post adds.
Let us remind you that currently the United States has not adopted any programs for financing assistance to Ukraine. The country’s interim budget was voted without aid packages for Ukraine and Israel.
