The incident occurred in the city of Yakutsk on the Lena River: the ice on it could not withstand the weight of the car and cracked – the car began to sink.
Several vehicles went into the water while crossing the frozen Lena River in Russian Yakutsk. Drivers and passengers had to be pulled out seconds before the vehicles submerged in the water. The Russian Telegram channel Mash reported this in the caption on the video with footage of the unsuccessful crossing.
On November 20, around 18:00, a Toyota Ipsum followed by a Mazda Bongo cargo truck was crossing the river, but the ice could not support the weight of the passenger vehicle, and it began to sink. The minibus behind him also sank into the water.
“A hovercraft vehicle was moving parallel to them. The people in it noticed the tragic situation and rushed to help the drowning people. There were four people in the same vehicle… all the passengers were saved,” the report said.
As we wrote earlier, in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation, patrol officers stopped a local resident who was driving down the road in a bathtub on wheels while drunk.
