Freezing winter weather conditions will likely contribute to the continuation of more active fighting.
Ukrainian and Russian forces continue to fight in eastern and southern Ukraine, but the weather is slowing the pace of fighting until winter conditions fully settle. This is stated in a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
A Russian military correspondent noted that bad weather prevents the use of armored vehicles in the western Zaporozhye region, but Ukrainian troops are still attacking Russian positions with infantry units.
“Cold winter weather is likely to encourage a return to more active fighting, and continued rainy weather is unlikely to deter Ukrainian or Russian attacks,” ISW said.
On November 18, the British Ministry of Defense assessed that neither side had achieved significant progress in the Kupyansky and Avdeevsky directions, as well as on the eastern (left) bank of the Kherson region, where the heaviest fighting continues .
It added that the near-term prospects for major changes to the front line are diminishing as the cold winter weather sets in.
We remind you that on November 19, both Ukrainian and Russian aviation pilots reduced the number of strikes. Russian troops suspended their offensive in the direction of Liman and Zaporozhye. The number of attacks on most other sectors of the front was significantly reduced.
In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liquidated 640 invaders. Since the beginning of a large-scale war, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 319,210 people.
