The Attorney General discussed the possibility of creating an international mechanism to stop child abductions in Russia.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andrey Kostin discussed with member of British Parliament Alicia Kearns possible ways to create an international mechanism to stop deportations and return Ukrainian children home. The press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this on Sunday, November 19.
“At the International Security Forum in Halifax, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin met with member of the British Parliament Alicia Kearns,” the statement said.
Kostin thanked him for his efforts to counter Russia’s massive illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
“The scale of this criminal policy requires a coordinated response from the world community,” he emphasized.
It was noted that during the meeting, officials discussed potential ways to create an international mechanism to stop deportations, return children home and bring those responsible to justice.
In addition, the issue of facilitating the release of Ukrainian civilians illegally detained by the aggressor is being considered.
The Prosecutor General emphasized the need to act with reluctance – “for the sake of every child and adult who are separated from their loved ones and deprived of the right to live in their own land.”
Kostin also met with US Special Representative for Economic Recovery of Ukraine Penny Pritzker to discuss the issue of confiscation of Russian assets.
We remind you that on Sunday, the teenager Ermokhin, who was exiled by the Russians from Mariupol, returned to Ukraine.
