Due to a strike by Polish carriers, Ukrainians have been blocked at checkpoints for more than 10 days and cannot enter Ukraine, reports Public.
Let us remind you that about 2.8 thousand trucks are stuck at the border due to a strike by Polish carriers.
Transport throughput is limited, only a few trucks per hour, although carriers are already choosing alternative routes, which is causing a significant load on other checkpoints.
Ukraine is negotiating to reach a compromise, but the Polish side is not agreeing to this.
Since November 20, Polish carriers want to expand their strike and block another checkpoint for trucks across the border with Ukraine – “Shegini-Medika”, AFP reports.
The blockage could be due to what they call unfair competition from war-torn Ukraine. According to Borkowski, truckers are waiting for a new round of negotiations with the Polish and Ukrainian governments and are “not satisfied with the speed” of these negotiations.
On the morning of November 17, on the Ukrainian-Polish border at the exit from Poland in the direction of three checkpoints – Yagodin-Dorogusk, Krakovets-Korchevaya, Rava-Russkaya – Grebennoye – there are approximately 2.4 thousand trucks.
