The visit will take place against the backdrop of Scholz’s criticism of Germany for not visiting Ukraine in more than 100 days of the war.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, along with French President Macron and Italian Prime Minister Draghi, are planning a joint visit to Ukraine. On Saturday, June 11, the German edition of Bild am Sonntag reports.
It was noted that in Germany for a few weeks there was sharp criticism of Scholz because he still had not traveled to Ukraine.
But now, according to the publication, government boards in France and Ukraine have specific travel plans: the chancellor is planning a joint trip with French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi before the G7 summit at the end of June.
Recall that two days earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky had spoken on the phone with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The conversation took place after Macron’s call to “don’t shame Russia”, to which Zelensky gave his answer.
