The war criminal must take the first step towards a possible peaceful settlement in Ukraine and must withdraw troops from the temporarily occupied territories. Scholz’s words are quoted by the German publication Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
However, there is no sign yet that this will happen. Putin must not succeed in his goal of using force to annex part of a neighboring country, the German chancellor noted.
Scholz also said he was “ready for new negotiations” with the Russian dictator. However, he added that the meaning of a conversation with the dictator will appear if the ways “are ready to act.”
The German Chancellor once again assured Ukraine that “assistance in defense against the Russian invasion will be provided as long as needed.”
As is known, the last time Scholz and Puti spoke by phone was December 2, 2022.
Let’s remember that in early October, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the world should put more pressure on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to stop the war in Ukraine.
