The ship probably encountered a floating sea mine. The incident occurred on November 16.
This was reported by Reuters, citing maritime specialists and a source in the Ukrainian government.
It is noted that the ship was leaving the Yuzhny port. After colliding with a mine, it arrived at the Romanian port of Constanta.
After Russia’s withdrawal from the “grain agreement” in July of this year, Ukraine opened a “temporary humanitarian corridor” to break through the de facto blockade of Ukrainian ports by Russia. During this time, Russia repeatedly attacked Ukrainian port infrastructure and also installed sea mines.
