Experts will select DNA samples, which will then be transferred to Ukrainian investigators to find and identify the missing persons.
Ukrainian citizens in Europe can donate DNA samples to find missing relatives under special circumstances. Interior Minister Igor Klimenko announced this on Facebook on Friday, November 17.
“This is the result of agreements between the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine and the International Commission on Missing Persons. We are starting to work with Poland and Germany,” the minister said.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs published a schedule for the collection of biological material for the next two weeks:
November 28 – Krakow;
November 30 – Warsaw;
November 30 – Poznan;
December 2 – Berlin;
December 2 – Munich;
December 3 – Dresden;
December 4 – Frankfurt am Main;
December 5 – Dusseldorf.
Experts will select DNA samples, which will then be transferred to Ukrainian investigators to find and identify the missing persons.
To submit your biological material, you must register at +380687910000. Operators will also answer all clarifying questions.
Klimenko calls on all families looking for their relatives to join in collecting samples. “Together we can speed up this difficult process,” he emphasized.
We remind you that since the beginning of Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, at least 30 thousand Ukrainian civilians have disappeared, at least this number is known to the International Commission on Missing Persons.
As reported, the search for missing persons in Ukraine will be conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
