The victory of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will be a tragedy not only for the Ukrainians, the head of NATO believes.
The United States of America will continue to help Ukraine, so it is in their interests. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg announced this on Thursday, November 16.
He noted that at the Vilnius summit, the allies made several commitments to support Ukraine and must fulfill them.
“All heads of state and government, all NATO allies have pledged to support Ukraine not only because President Putin’s victory would be a tragedy for Ukrainians, but because it would be dangerous for us,” said the general secretary.
Stoltenberg noted that it is in the national security interest of all NATO allies, including the United States, to prevent Russian dictator Vladimir Putin from winning Ukraine.
“And therefore I am confident that the United States will continue to support Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said.
The NATO leader noted Germany’s position, which expressed increased support for Ukraine and indicated that other allies would also increase their aid to Kyiv.
He added that “if authoritarian leaders use military force with impunity, violate international law, attack other countries and still get what they want, the world will become more dangerous and NATO weaker .”
Estonian Prime Minister Kaia Kallas is “open” ahead of her appointment as NATO Secretary General.
We remind you that the United States has announced that it will continue to help Ukraine in its confrontation with the Russian Federation, but the military aid packages will be smaller, since Congress has not yet made a decision on additional funding.
