At the end of October, 29 people’s deputies turned to the police against the former adviser to the Office of the President Arestovich for a false report of a criminal offense, which he sent through the court to the State Bureau of Investigation.
In particular, he accused Pipa of violating the equality of citizens on the basis of language because of his statement to the police regarding the performer of the Russian year in the center of Lvov.
Arestovich, through the court, ordered the DBR to open criminal proceedings against Pipa. The case will be considered under the article on violation of the equality of citizens on the basis of language.
Pipa and other people’s deputies refer to Law No. 2310-IX, which introduces strict restrictions on the public use of Russian musical products and the 2018 moratorium of the Lviv Regional Council prohibiting any public use of Russian-language cultural products.
On June 2, in the center of Lvov, a minor street musician from Odessa, Alexander I., performed a song by Russian rock musician Viktor Tsoi. Natalya Pipa, who was passing by, reacted to this and asked to stop singing in the language of the occupier. The musician reacted aggressively to this and spoke in Russian, so the deputy called the police and wrote a statement. Law enforcement officers drew up an administrative report on petty hooliganism. Later, Alexander I. published a video in which he apologized for the profanity. On July 27, the Galitsky District Court of Lvov found him guilty of petty hooliganism and limited himself to a warning.
After the incident was publicized on social networks, Arestovich reacted to this and came to the guy’s defense. On August 4, Arestovich wrote a statement to the DBI with a request to open criminal proceedings against Natalia Pipa under Part 2 of Art. 161 for inciting national hatred. However, the DBI refused to open proceedings, but on September 6, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv ordered the DBI to enter information about the opening of proceedings against Pipa into the register of pre-trial investigations.
This is the second fight against Arestovich. The National Police has already launched a pre-trial investigation against the former adviser to the Office of the President because of his statements about women.
