Mikhail Golovko repeatedly violated the obligations imposed on him after posting bail in the amount of 805 thousand Hryvnia.
The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) is asking the court to change the preventive detention measure for the head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mikhail Golovko. This was reported by the SAPO press service on Wednesday, November 15.
The suspect repeatedly violated the obligation imposed on him by the investigating judge after being granted bail. In addition, the failure of the suspect to appear at the court hearing on October 25 led to the fact that the procedural obligations expired, because without the suspect it was impossible to conduct a trial and consider the petition.
Taking this into account, the SAPO prosecutor insisted on applying a stricter preventive measure to the head of the Ternopil Regional Council – detention, as well as collecting in the state the bail paid for the said suspect – more at 805 thousand hryvnias.
Let’s remember that in June Golovko and two deputy heads of the regional administration were exposed for taking a bribe of 2.4 million Hryvnias. The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of arrest with a bail of 805 thousand Hryvnia. Bail was posted for Golovko and he was released from the pre-trial detention center.
On July 17, the High Anti-Corruption Court refused to dismiss the head of the Ternopil Regional Council.
