Negotiations between the heads of the United States and China have already begun, and at the beginning of the negotiations they exchanged greetings and introductory speeches. After this, the closed meeting started.
Xi Jinping said he considers the Beijing-Washington relationship to be the most “important” in the entire world. Biden, in turn, noted that it was “an honor and pleasure” for him to host the Chinese leader in the United States.
Biden and Xi Jinping last met at the G20 summit in Indonesia in November 2022. Then these were the first negotiations after Biden became US President. However, the last time Xi Jinping visited the States was six years ago.
Let us remember that Joe Biden and Xi Jinping in California will talk about trade, Taiwan, resolving complex US-Chinese relations, Ukraine, as well as the need to resume communication channels between the armed forces of both countries.
