The SBU reported on November 15 that it had ordered a number of examinations into the statements and publications of the former MP.
The intelligence service recalled that in one of her interviews, Farion said that she categorically does not accept Russian-speaking military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and cannot call them Ukrainians.
The SBU added that the defendant published a message on social networks with a screenshot of a message from a pro-Ukrainian student from temporarily occupied Crimea, which indicated the sender’s name, surname and other personal data.
This was the basis for his persecution by the Russian special services.
Criminal proceedings on these facts have been opened under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Art. 161 (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality, regional affiliation, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds);
- Art. 435-1 (insulting the honor and dignity of a serviceman, threats to a serviceman);
- Art. 163 (violation of the confidentiality of correspondence, telephone conversations, telegraphic or other correspondence transmitted by means of communication or via a computer);
- Art. 182 (violation of privacy).
The pre-trial investigation continues.
Meanwhile, the administration of the Lviv Polytechnic University says that there are no grounds for dismissing former MP Farion from her position as a teacher. Earlier, students of this educational institution went out to protest.
